Caardvarks Black/White + One Challenge

I was so excited when I saw that the current Caardvarks challenge is to make a card using black and white plus one other color. Of course I had to make a black/white/red card. I used a Fiskars texture plate to emboss a vine pattern on the heart, and the sentiment is another one of my $1 Michael's stamps. I really like the way layering the torn cardstock and paper turned out. My other card is black/white/lime green. I used my sewing machine's button sewing program to sew the ribbon to the card (very fast and easy). If you love these cards and can't live without them, they're for sale in my Etsy shop.

Caardvarks Flight of Fancy Challenge

The current Caardvarks challenge is to make a "winged things" card. I made a card in one of my favorite color combinations of red, black, and white. I stamped butterflies is red, silver, and black using another one of my $1 Michaels stamps. For the sentiment, I stepped away from my usual "happy birthday" and "thank you" and used "you inspire me." I think it all came together to make a very pretty card.

Monogrammed Notecards

When I need a gift for someone, I try to give a handmade gift. This always used to be a gift made by me, but I have so little free time now that I have purchased many handmade items for gift-giving purposes. I acutally made a gift for my niece for her eleventh birthday. She will get it late because I haven't shipped it yet, and her birthday is tomorrow! She is a horse lover, so I made her a set of six monogrammed horse-themed note cards. I'm really happy with how they turned out, so you'll probably see some similar cards in my shop soon. She is also an avid reader so I bought her a Barnes & Noble gift card because I don't think the note cards alone would cut it!

Alchemy on Etsy

Alchemy has returned to Etsy! While there are some problems with the current system, I have had a positive experience with it so far. I've had some bids rejected, but two of my bids were accepted. I was able to create a "survival pack" of 14 cards and a custom order of my unique pocket thank you cards. If you can't find exactly what you're looking for on Etsy, give alchemy a try!
