Caardvarks Drink Up Challenge

Over at Caardvarks, the current challenge is to make a beverage-themed card. Of course I had to make a card using one of my favorite stamps--a martini glass ($1 at Michael's). The card is made of black cardstock, olive green paper, and black and white patterned paper. I did some fancy cutting with my wave rotary cutter. I stamped the martini glass in black ink, accented with a little chalk, and cut around the shape. The martini glass is attached to the card with foam squares to give it a little dimension. This is the earliest I've had my card done, but I wanted to participate in the challenge before I leave on vacation. Thanks for looking!

Caardvarks Tag Challenge

The current Caardvarks challenge is to make a tag inspired by a month of the year. I made a patriotic tag for the month of July. I stitched red and navy blue "stripes" on white and navy blue cardstock. "Celebrate" is stamped repeatedly on the white spaces between the stripes. A crimped navy blue cardstock star is tied to the tag with a red and white ribbon. I have a patriotic-themed wedding to attend this summer, so this tag will be the perfect finishing touch on the present.

Cute & Easy Flannel Bibs

I finally took some time this weekend to work on a sewing project. It has been so long since I sat down at my sewing machine, and I've really missed it. I made four flannel bibs for my son using burp cloths I purchased on Etsy from chenilleboutique. The burp cloths were so soft and incredibly well made--you should definitely check out her shop. The best part was actually completing my project since I only had to cut the hole and add some ribbing. I love this style of bib because you just roll up the mess, slip it over baby's head, and throw it in the laundry. Now I need to figure out what to do with all my scrap flannel circles.
